Hurricane Katrina To Cost $300,000,000,000 (Billion)
Consider the estimated $300,000,000,000 (billion) cost for hurricane Katrina and all the wooden structures
that will probably be demolished due to black mold and dry rot. This area will probably become a general contractor’s
paradise and generate billions of dollars for the construction industry. As Americans we have traditionally built
structures with wood and it stands to reason that New Orleans-Mississippi will be rebuilt with predominantly what? Wood!
Why?
Grid-WALL™ is an absolutely perfect building material for the New Orleans-Mississippi area. The South is very hot,
very humid, and hurricanes and flooding does occur in these areas. Remember the fires in New Orleans? Grid-WALL™ is
one of the best energy efficient building materials available that doesn’t support combustion. Doesn’t it make sense
with energy costs spiraling upward and totally out of control that energy efficient structures should be built? Grid-WALL™
structures should save the consumer up to 50% for energy bills. This may not sound like a great savings but consider the
homeowner having an energy bill of $600.00 vs. $300.00. Huge savings such as this over long periods of time makes
good business sense.
Grid-WALL™ installed properly will withstand winds up to 200 miles/hour. This type of wall system should
withstand all known hurricanes. If a Grid-WALL™ structure is subjected to flooding, even with rushing
floodwaters, the odds are very high that it should survive those forces. One $600,000 house in Texas has survived
two huge Guadalupe river floods that blasted water onto the Grid-WALL™ house. All the doors, windows, and interior
framing were destroyed both times, but the Grid-WALL™ structure withstood the floods forces with no structural damage.
(See Amazongridwall.com for picture) Cleanup of the Grid-WALL™ portion of the structure was only (1) washing and (2)
repainting! Insurance companies love this type of structure and should reduce insurance premiums up to 30%.
As a side note, the house next door developed black mold and all siding, insulation, and sheetrock was removed down
to the studs and then rebuilt. Would it have been cost efficient for the house to have been demolished and rebuilt
with Grid-WALL™? Probably not. Lastly, many of the Katrina destroyed houses will be demolished due to black mold
damage. Black mold does not grow on Grid-WALL™.
Grid-WALL™ Structures Qualify For Reduced Mortgage Rates
According to Jeff Oyston, mortgage broker, some mortgage companies will reduce interest
rates up to .75% when financing a Grid-WALL™ house. It’s imperative when considering
building a Grid-WALL™ home that all cost variables need to be considered. Many
consumers look only at the cost of the house compared to a framed house and may
decide on the framed house because it is an assumed 5% less in construction cost for
the entire structure.
What does this mean?
Suppose the entire wood house costs $200,000 and the Grid-WALL™ house costs $210,000.
How can the home owner justify paying the additional amount? One way to justify a
portion the additional cost is to consider getting a discounted mortgage rate for the
life of the mortgage which could be very substantial.
At the time of this printing, 30 year mortgage rates are approximately 6.12%.
Reduce this figure by .75% and the interest would be 5.37%. Assume the mortgage is
$200,000, the monthly payment at 6.12% would be $1,020.00 and the monthly payment for
a $210,000 mortgage at 5.37% would be $939.75, for a difference of $80.25/month.
Multiply the savings of $80.25/mo over the next 10 years and the savings would be $9,630.00.
Obviously, the longer the life of this mortgage, the greater the savings will be.

Many of you have called asking when the new line for Grid-PLANK™ will be
finished. The answer to that question is the first quarter of 2006
Metal framing technology will be utilized with the frames being erected
at the Amazon Forms One, Inc. plant site. The four foot wide panels will
then be filled with Grid-MIX™, which is the same concrete/recycled
polystyrene mix used to manufacture Grid-WALL™. The panels will be either
8 feet or ten feet tall. Higher walls can be made by stacking the units
on top of each other
The resulting solid, non-load bearing wall will give the structure
excellent sound-proofing qualities and reduce variations in temperature
throughout the structure. Plaster can be applied directly to the panels
eliminating the use of dry wall, and eliminating the possibility of black
mold if the walls should get wet
Grid-PLANK™ will reduce interior wall erection time considerably
saving the consumer costs in labor and material. The interior walls for a
2,000 square foot house should be totally completed in two days or less by two installers.
Electrical wiring can be pulled through the 1” hole that goes the entire length
of the panel. Plugs and switch plates could be cut out with either a chain saw or
reciprocating saw and then installed. Attention Electricians: no more drilling through studs!
GRID-WALL™ Show House Patio
Here are some new photos of the finished and occupied Grid-WALL™ show
home. The landscaping has really helped it to look more finished. Please
note the photo of the front sidewalks and back patio. The patio and
walks were made with waste granite. Scraps of granite that are left over
from the manufacture of granite countertops are just thrown away! A
mixture of 1 part cement and 2 parts sand or crushed rock is mixed dry
and packed smooth. The granite pieces are laid out, and more of the dry
mixture is swept in between the pieces. A fine, but thorough, misting
with water sets the concrete enough to hold the granite in place. This
is a quick and easy way to create patios and walks.
Please note that the granite has two sides—a rough and the polished
smooth side. The polished side is extremely slippery when wet, and must
be sealed with sanded concrete sealer to give it some traction.
Grid-WALL™ Dominates Central U.S. In ICF Sales At 13% And Production
Doubles
Amazon Forms One, Inc. belongs to the Insulated Concrete Forming
Association (ICFA) and one of the benefits of this organization is to
gather data about your company and how it performed compared to the
entire association. Each company is given statistics only for its
Company as compared to the total sales of the association. Competitor
company’s statistics are confidential.
