Grid-Wall

Our Standard Block: Specifications

The standard Grid-WALLTM block measures 24" high by 48" long by 10" deep and weighs 70 to 75 lbs. The forms have a minimum thickness of 2".  When filled with concrete, they create a gusseted grid of steel-reinforced concrete, 6 inches in diameter at it's smallest. A technical drawing has been provided to show this grid work.

As with all our products, it is composed of Recycled Polystyrene Styrofoam (85%) and concrete. The concre

te is chemically bonded to the styrofoam in our patented process so the two materials cannot separate.

Weight: about 75 pounds

Other Facts

1.1 cubic yards of concrete are required to fill 100 square feet of standard Grid-WALL.
1 cubic yard of concrete weighs 3400 lbs.

1 Grid-WALL block will absorb 200 lbs of concrete.
1 Grid-WALL block will take 8 ft. of rebar, unless engineered otherwise.

The hollow blocks are stacked, glued together, filled with rebar, then concrete is poured down into the voids. This concrete gridwork is what gives the wall its real integrity, although the blocks are substantial in themselves.
